Yosemite – my favorite place on Earth. There's nothing quite like that feeling the first time you round a bend and see the alpenglow-capped walls of the Valley yawning in the distance, sunlight glittering in the early morning air. Of 6AM bleary-eyed blinking after an all night blizzard, hands gripping the wheel, the mists of Bridalveil disappearing into the fog. Of standing numb on the banks of the Merced, teeth chattering, waiting with bated breath to see if the fading February sun will catch Horsetail falls as a match to kindling, lighting up El Capitan with a fierce glowing firelight.
